Locke Lord’s Atlanta Office Adds Two Experienced Attorneys to its National Corporate and Transactional Department

Locke Lord announces that the Atlanta office has added two new attorneys to the Firm’s Corporate Practice Group, bringing significant experience to its transactional capabilities in the energy, technology and telecommunications industries. Longtime Atlanta attorney Joel Cartee has joined Locke Lord as a Partner. He brings a strong background in complex global transactions and has extensive experience in the telecommunications and technology arenas, which adds depth and talent to the Firm’s global Corporate team.

Joining Cartee in Atlanta is attorney Alisha Fikes Gibson, who will join Locke Lord’s Corporate and Transactional Department as an Associate with experience in a wide range of corporate transactional matters.
Cartee’s corporate, governmental and private equity clients include major U.S. businesses that he represents both nationally and internationally in transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, securities, project finance, joint ventures, strategic alliances and equity and debt financing. Cartee and Gibson routinely handle business transactions and international mergers and acquisitions for one of the world’s largest telecommunications companies. Their energy practice includes a particular focus on renewable energy, clean technology, infrastructure and carbon management.
“Joel’s diverse background in corporate, renewable energy and telecommunications matters make him a valuable addition here in Atlanta and across the Firm,” said Neil Dickson, Managing Partner of the Atlanta Office. “Joel and Alisha have a solid track record in their corporate technology work, are a great fit for our Atlanta team and will build upon the Firm’s strong Corporate platform.”
Cartee and Gibson were formerly with Seyfarth Shaw, where Cartee was chair of the firm’s Corporate and Finance Department in Atlanta. Cartee also serves as a special assistant attorney general for Georgia in connection with his representation of the Office of the State Treasurer and the State of Georgia Retirement System. He is a magna cum laude graduate of The University of Alabama School of Law, where he also served as senior editor of the Alabama Law Review.
Gibson has experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, corporate formation and governance, joint ventures and strategic alliances and private equity transactions. She shares Cartee’s focus in the telecommunications, technology and energy industries. Gibson is a summa cum laude graduate of The University of Alabama School of Law, where, like Cartee, she was senior editor of the Alabama Law Review.
