Mayer Brown Adds Partner Thomas L. Eldert to Expand Projects Group in Washington, DC

Mayer Brown, a leading global law firm, announced today that Thomas L. Eldert has joined the firm as a partner in the global Projects Group and the Banking & Finance practice in Washington, DC. Mr. Eldert comes from Morrison & Foerster, where he was a member of the Project Finance and Development Group.

Mr. Eldert’s practice focuses on the representation of lenders, borrowers, contractors and government entities in all aspects of project development and finance transactions, as well as representation of political risk insurers in both transactional and claims resolution matters. 
He has represented domestic and international clients in transactions in a variety of industries, including power, pipelines, hotels, ports, manufacturing and retail in jurisdictions including Turkey, China, Indonesia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Japan, Bolivia, Mexico, Colombia, Uruguay, the Dominican Republic, Qatar, Thailand, Vietnam and the US.
Mr. Eldert has experience representing governmental entities and multilateral organizations in connection with project finance and development matters, including Export-Import Bank of the United States and Overseas Private Investment Corporation. Mr. Eldert also has significant experience in renewable energy projects, including those eligible for the US Department of Energy Loan Guarantee Program.
Mr. Eldert holds a JD degree from Harvard Law School and a BA from Williams College.
