Jones Day welcomes litigation partner Jeffrey Bresch in Pittsburgh

The global law firm Jones Day has announced that Jeffrey J. Bresch has joined the Pittsburgh Office as a partner in the Business and Tort Litigation (USA) Practice. He joins Jones Day from Reed Smith, where he was partner in the trial group. Mr. Bresch’s significant and diverse practice includes energy, intellectual property/trade secrets, and general commercial litigation, among many others. As first chair counsel, he has tried both bench and jury trials to successful verdict in a wide array of matters throughout the United States.

Mr. Bresch has handled a variety of civil litigation, including technology, medical device, pharmaceutical, employment law, product liability, corporate/shareholder disputes, personal injury, securities, class action, defamation, civil rights, insurance, and environmental litigation. His background covers commercial arbitrations, as well as appellate work, including arguments before state and federal appellate courts. Mr. Bresch’s trial experience has taken him into courts across Pennsylvania as well as Florida, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, California, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Minnesota, West Virginia, Virginia, Wisconsin, Washington, Delaware, Ohio, Texas, and the District of Columbia. Mr. Bresch also is a frequent lecturer on the intersection of technology and the law. He is admitted in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Mr. Bresch also serves as counsel to several publicly traded companies and assists in effectively managing their litigation and non-litigation matters, including numerous corporate transactions and employment matters. As a result, he is routinely involved in high-level strategic discussions with executive management on both corporate and litigation issues.

Mr. Bresch attended Marquette University and then Duquesne School of Law, where he was the Editor In Chief of the Law Review. He was federal law clerk and trial partner at Buchanan Ingersoll before moving to Reed Smith in 2003. Mr. Bresch sits on numerous charitable boards including the Sarah Heinz House and the Watson Institute.
