Dechert LLP announced today that Antoine Sarailler has joined the firm’s Financial Services group as a national partner in Paris.
Antoine, 35, focuses on asset management and advises French and international financial institutions on setting up and obtaining approval for management companies, as well as on structuring, documenting and distributing regulated and non-regulated French and foreign open- and close-ended funds, whether located in France, other European jurisdictions or offshore.
He has significant experience providing legal advice on structuring and documenting institutional and retail funds such as UCITS funds, private equity funds, REITs, hedge funds, infrastructure funds and distressed debt funds.
He frequently acts for French and international management companies and financial institutions, advising them on their structure, the regulatory framework governing their business in France, the distribution of their financial products and assisting them with judicial or disciplinary proceedings.
Antoine is in regular contact with the French Financial Markets Authority (AMF) and the relevant professional associations (ASPIM, AFG, AFIC) dealing with regulatory matters and is also involved with various working groups dealing with asset management issues.
Before joining Dechert, Antoine worked for more than 10 years at leading French domestic firm Gide Loyrette Nouel.
He holds a master’s degree in business law from the University of Paris I-Pantheon Sorbonne and graduated from the Business School of Lyon (EM-Lyon). He is also the general secretary of QuantValley, an association that brings together France’s leading quantative fund managers.
With Antoine’s arrival, Dechert reaffirms its strong commitment to further developing the activities of its Financial Services group. The Financial Services group currently comprises 160 lawyers in the US, Europe and Asia. Antoine will work closely with partner Olivier Dumas, who joined the firm in 2009 and heads up the group in Paris, as well as with the tax team led by Bruno Leroy, who joined in October 2011.
