Ropes & Gray Continues Expansion of London Funds Team

Ropes & Gray is delighted to announce that Anand Damodaran has joined the London office as a partner in its private investment funds group.

Mr. Damodaran brings a wide range of experience in the investment funds arena, including advising on the establishment of several private equity, real estate and hedge funds, negotiating contracts with service providers to funds, assisting with the establishment of carried interest and co-investment schemes and assisting potential investors with the primary and secondary purchases of interests in funds.
Mr. Damodaran comes to Ropes & Gray from White & Case where he was a senior associate in its funds practice. He follows partner Matt Judd, who joined Ropes & Gray’s London practice in February of this year and with whom he has worked for a number of years.
Mr. Judd said, “Ropes & Gray has a market-leading global fund formation practice and Anand’s addition will further deepen our private investment funds platform in London and Europe. Having worked with Anand for many years, I know he will bring tremendous value to our team.”
Mr. Damodaran’s arrival marks the latest in a series of hires in the funds and private equity space, joining a team which now includes five private equity partners, two funds partners, one tax partner, and one regulatory counsel, supported by a team of twelve associates.
“I’m delighted to be joining Ropes & Gray and hope to capitalize on the benefits of being part of a firm where private equity and global fund formation are core focuses,” said Mr. Damodaran.
