Brian S. Wheeler has joined the law firm of LeClairRyan as a partner in the firm’s Litigation Department. He will be resident in the firm’s Blacksburg and Roanoke, Va. offices.
Wheeler focuses his practice on representing clients in matters involving commercial litigation, antitrust, intellectual property, employment and general corporate transactions. He has significant experience representing clients in oil, gas and energy law matters, including advising a Fortune 500 company on energy leases. In his antitrust practice, he has provided clients with assessments of the operational and legal implications of allegations of international price fixing, advised on antitrust compliance as well as compliance with the Federal Trade Commission Act and the Clayton Act, and prepared numerous applications under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act. Additionally, Wheeler has served as lead counsel in lawsuits related to employment disputes, wrongful death and defamation, trademark and copyright infringement claims.
A graduate of Washington & Lee University School of Law (J.D.) and the University of Maine (B.A.), Wheeler is admitted to practice in Virginia, Maine, Massachusetts, Tennessee and West Virginia. He is a member of the American Bar Association’s Science and Technology Section, the Montgomery-Radford Bar Association, the Roanoke Bar Association and Rotary International. He has been recognized as a “Super Lawyer Rising Star” by Law & Politics magazine.
