Barnes & Thornburg Continues Atlanta Growth with Addition of Jeff Morgan

Barnes & Thornburg LLP announced today that Jeffrey C. Morgan has joined the firm’s Atlanta office as a partner in the Intellectual Property Department. Morgan was previously a partner in the Atlanta office of Troutman Sanders LLP.

Morgan focuses his practice in the areas of patent litigation and strategy. He has litigated and tried patent and trademark cases, and has represented a broad range of clients from closely-held corporations to Fortune 100 companies. Morgan’s experience has involved disputes in a wide range of technical areas, including computer software and networks, medical devices, mobile telephones, consumer health care products, and semiconductor chips.
“Jeff has a broad and impressive background in high-level, complex litigation for a variety of technology focused companies,” said Stuart C. Johnson, managing partner of Barnes & Thornburg’s Atlanta office. “His arrival underscores the firm’s commitment to expanding our already strong patent and trademark litigation capabilities, as well as the continued build-out of our full service office in Atlanta.”
Morgan’s arrival continues the Atlanta office’s rapid growth, which opened in April 2009. To accommodate expansion, Barnes & Thornburg moved into a new 24,000 square-foot office at Prominence in Buckhead in 2011.
“We are excited to welcome Jeff to our national intellectual property practice,” said Thomas J. Donovan, chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Department. “The addition of Jeff to our Atlanta office is another significant boost to the firm’s IP litigation team that continues to enhance its national presence.”
Barnes & Thornburg LLP’s Intellectual Property Department has more than 100 attorneys and professionals, making it one of the largest intellectual property practice groups found in a full-service law firm.
