William D. Norman has joined the law firm of LeClairRyan as a shareholder on the firm’s Bank Finance and Lending, Corporate, and Venture Capital Practice Area Teams. He will be resident in the firm’s Boston office.
Norman’s practice focuses on representing privately held companies in three main stages of their growth and development: Start-up/emerging, middle market and strategic exit. Because his practice concentrates on advising companies through their various life cycles, he has an integrated and intimate understanding of matters that are critical to each. During his 30+ years as a practitioner, he has owned and operated a number of privately held businesses, including serving as one of the key founders and managing partners of a 30 person business law firm.
He has been recognized as a “Massachusetts Super Lawyer” by Law & Politics magazine, a “Top Attorney in Massachusetts” by Boston magazine and a “Top Attorney in New England” by the American Registry.
Norman is a member of Associated Corporate Growth, the Smaller Business Association of New England, the International Business Brokers Association, the Curriculum Advisory Committee of Massachusetts Legal Education, and the Exit Planning Exchange. He is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University Law School (J.D.) and the University of Massachusetts (B.A.). He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts state and federal courts.
