Shearman & Sterling represented Dolphin Energy on its bond offerings in a combined amount of $1.3 billion. Dolphin Energy operates the Dolphin energy project, a cross-border integrated natural gas production and transportation system in the Gulf region. The proceeds of the bonds will be used to refinance an existing bank facility and to make a distribution to its shareholders.
The Shearman & Sterling team of lawyers in the firm’s London office included capital markets partner Richard Price and associates Joji Ozawa, Christina Leto and Yaw Asare, project finance partner Tim Pick and associates Robin Bayley, Amanda Still and Kate Kimpton.
The firm also advised Dolphin Energy on its earlier $4.1 billion bond and loan refinancing, a landmark oil and gas financing for the Gulf region. The transaction was awarded Infrastructure Journal’s ‘Oil & Gas Deal of the Year’ 2009, Project Finance magazine’s ‘Middle East Oil & Gas Deal of the Year’ 2009 and Project Finance International’s ‘Middle East Oil & Gas Deal of the Year’ 2009.
