The law firm of Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP is pleased to announce that Sang-yul Lee has joined the firm as a partner in its Litigation Department. Lee will base his practice in the Chicago office of the firm.
Lee represents clients in litigation and transactional matters in all aspects of labor and employment law, as well as human resource conflicts. He has represented clients in EEO litigation, collective bargaining, campaigns, strikes, arbitrations, layoffs and closures, wage and hour audits, class actions, employment compliance audits, and interdisciplinary advice and counseling matters.
“Sang-yul is a strong addition to our labor and employment practice group,” said Tim Van Dyck, a Boston partner who serves as co-chair of Edwards Wildman’s Labor and Employment Group. “Our clients in the Midwest and beyond will benefit immediately from his deep experience in the full range of employment disputes, and we are delighted to welcome him to the firm.”
Lee’s clients, in the U.S. and abroad, include technology, energy, health care, hospitality, transportation, food, publishing, financial services and manufacturing organizations. His experience extends to separation, change-in-control, independent contractor and restrictive covenant agreements, and bankruptcy and M&A transactions.
“Sang-yul’s unique experience with both litigation and transactional matters, combined with his international expertise, greatly enhances our ability to serve clients in all types of employment matters,” said John Roberts, partner-in-charge of the firm’s Chicago office.
Previously a partner at the law firms of Polsinelli Shughart and Seyfarth Shaw, Lee is admitted to practice in Illinois. He earned his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and his law degree from University of Illinois.
