Baker Hostetler announced today that Barry E. Bretschneider and John P. “Jack” Corrado have joined the firm’s Intellectual Property Group as Partners in its Washington, D.C., office. They join Baker Hostetler from Morrison & Foerster LLP.
Bretschneider focuses his practice on patent infringement litigation before the federal courts and the International Trade Commission. He is also a recognized leader in reexamination and interference practice. Bretschneider also handles patent prosecution, patent licensing and related transactional work and trademark litigation and prosecution. His clients include major U.S. and foreign corporations, in particular European and Asian corporations, across a number of advanced technological industries, including electronics, semiconductors, polymers, composite materials, medical devices, pharmaceutical and automotive industries. He is the co-author of How to Win Interferences, published by Managing Intellectual Property. Since 2006 Bretschneider has been listed by Chambers USA as one of America’s Leading Business Lawyers and recognized by Best Lawyers in America since 2009. He has been a member of the Intellectual Property faculty at the Osaka Institute of Technology in Osaka, Japan, lecturing on Patent Law since 2005 and is a former visiting professor of law at the George Washington University National Center.
Corrado, formerly the head of Morrison & Foerster’s Washington and Northern Virginia litigation groups, has a broad intellectual property and commercial litigation practice with particular expertise in patent litigation in the Eastern District of Virginia. Often referred to as the “rocket docket,” it is recognized for having the fastest civil trial calendar in the federal system. Corrado is a founding member of the Newman Intellectual Property Inn of Court, and is past president of the Northern Virginia chapter of the Federal Bar Association.
