Hogan Lovells has recruited senior and highly experienced corporate finance partner, David Levin, to the firm’s Corporate Practice in London and the Energy Industry Group. David will join Hogan Lovells on 9 January 2012.
David was head of Eversheds’ Russian practice with a focus on the energy sector and renewables initiatives in Russia/CIS. He has worked on a number of high profile deals including the largest renewables project in the world and the largest infrastructure project in Europe. David has latterly been dividing his time between London and Moscow. David was previously UK Head of Corporate at Chadbourne & Parke and Mayer Brown & Platt and was an associate with Lovells from 1989-1996.
Andrew Skipper, Co-head of the Global Corporate Practice said:
“Our London corporate finance practice has built great momentum over the course of this year, advising on high profile deals such as the £4.9 billion takeover of Northumbrian Water Group plc and SABMiller’s AUS$11.5bn bid for Fosters. It is a good time for us to be hiring someone with David’s experience in the energy sector to assist in the continuing success of our Corporate and Energy practices.”
David Levin said:
“Hogan Lovells will give me the global platform and an internationally recognised brand to further build my practice. Energy is a key sector for the firm, particularly in the US and Europe, and I can already see the potential opportunities that will bring. Having spent seven years at Lovells earlier in my career, I am looking forward to returning to the firm on a personal as well as a professional front.”
