Frost Brown Todd is pleased to announce Kyle J. Hupfer has joined the Business Combinations and Capital Transactions group as a partner in the Indianapolis office. He will focus his practice in the areas of complex corporate and financial transactions, economic development, governmental services, and general corporate counseling.

Hupfer joins the firm from ProLiance Energy where he served as Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary. In that position, he was responsible for all legal issues relative to ProLiance including corporate transactions, corporate finance, contracts, regulatory oversight, litigation, and corporate governance. Prior to joining ProLiance, Hupfer served as a member of Governor Daniels’ initial cabinet as Director of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. In that role, he was responsible for a broad range of policy initiatives and regulatory matters. As DNR Director, he also served in many additional official capacities, including Indiana State Historic Preservation Officer, Chairman of the State Museum and Secretary of the Indiana Natural Resources Commission.

Hupfer is a community leader and is also active in politics and the Republican Party at the local, state and national level. He is the current Fifth Congressional District Republican Chairman, a member of the Indiana Republican State Committee and has worked on numerous local and statewide campaigns. Hupfer is a member of the Board of Trustees at Manchester College, the Board of Directors of Children’s Bureau, Inc., the Board of the Indiana Sportsman’s Roundtable and the Board of Directors of the Indiana State Museum. He is also the past-Chairman of the Indiana State Fair.
Hupfer graduated from the Indiana University School of Law at Indianapolis and received his undergraduate degree in business management from Manchester College.
