Weil Expands Banking & Finance Practice As David Malamed Joins Paris Office

International law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP today announced that David Malamed has joined the firm as a partner in its Paris office. Mr. Malamed joins Weil’s Banking & Finance practice from Gide Loyrette Nouel, where he specialized in finance and investment funds.

Mr. Malamed has a broad background working with financial sponsors, issuers, and borrowers. The depth of his financing experience extends beyond transactional work for sophisticated private equity sponsors and hedge funds to include assisting large corporations and banks with their complex financing or restructuring transactions.

Mr. Malamed is a member of the Paris and New York Bars. He graduated from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris (Science-Po) in 1991 and has a postgraduate degree (DEA) in business law from University of Paris II (1992). Mr. Malamed received a LL.M. from Columbia Law School in 1994. He started his career at White & Case LLP in New York doing aircraft financing before joining Gide Loyrette Nouel in Paris in 1996 where he was named partner in 2003.
