Herbert Smith announced today that Christophe Lefort, a specialist in large-scale infrastructure projects, has joined the energy and infrastructure team in Paris as a partner.
Christophe joins from Bouygues Travaux Publics, a world leader in PPP and infrastructure concessions, where he was general counsel. He joins Herbert Smith in Paris as of December 1.
Widely regarded as a renowned practitioner in the infrastructure field, Christophe has market-leading expertise in drafting and designing contractual documents on building works, and operating numerous large-scale public and private works in France and abroad.
His experience encompasses negotiations between public authorities, builders, operators and financial institutions, and he has more than 20 years’ experience within the Bouygues Construction and Veolia Environnement groups.
Examples of projects he has worked on include the A-28 and A-41 motorways in France, the Sydney metro and Melbourne tramway in Australia, the Port of Pusan in South Korea and the Port of Miami Tunnel in the United States.
As part of the team directed by Stéphane Brabant, head of the Paris office’s energy and infrastructure and Africa departments, and alongside Jacques Bertran de Balanda, head of the banking and finance department, Christophe will play a key role in advising the firm’s clients on infrastructure construction and financing.
