Patton Boggs LLP recently strengthened its Government Investigations and Litigation; Homeland Security, Defense and Technology Transfer; and International practices with the addition of Clark Kent Ervin as a partner in the firm’s Washington office.

Having served under President George W. Bush as the inspector general of the Departments of State and Homeland Security, as well as the Broadcasting Board of Governors, Mr. Ervin’s notable expertise in the area of government and internal corporate investigations enables him to craft, coordinate and implement effective defense strategies on behalf of the firm’s clients.   

Mr. Ervin joins the firm from the Aspen Institute’s Homeland Security Program, where, as the Program’s director, he promotes security initiatives through dialogue with former key government officials, policy experts and thought leaders. In addition to continuing his work at the Institute, he will maintain his role as a member of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano’s Homeland Security Advisory Council. Mr. Ervin co-chaired then President-elect Obama’s transition team for the Department of Homeland Security and served as a member of the Commission on Wartime Contracting in Iraq and Afghanistan.
