David H. Marion, a past Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association whose courtroom experience includes landmark victories in the U.S. Supreme Court, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, has joined Archer & Greiner P.C. as a Partner in the firm’s Philadelphia office.

Mr. Marion is widely known for his successful trial practice, concentrating in business litigation, antitrust, securities, class actions, professional liability and communications law. He has acted as both plaintiff’s and defense counsel in numerous major actions and class actions involving antitrust matters, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), securities, and the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act. 
Prior to joining Archer & Greiner, Mr. Marion was a Partner with Montgomery, McCracken, Walker & Rhoads LLP in Philadelphia, where he served as Chairman of the firm for seven years and was past Chairman of its Litigation Department.

Mr. Marion’s noteworthy courtroom victories include a substantial plaintiffs’ jury verdict in a business tort case against a broadcast network, and the successful defense of a major public utility in precedent-setting federal ERISA class actions. Mr. Marion also currently serves as Receiver, appointed by the U.S. District Court on motion of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), in an SEC civil action involving a Ponzi scheme. The Receivership has collected more than $320 million for the fraud victims. 
Mr. Marion successfully argued the landmark U.S. Supreme Court case Philadelphia Newspapers, Inc. v. Hepps, which expanded First Amendment protection for news media. 
Recognized by Best Lawyers in America in the categories of Commercial Litigation, “Bet the Company” Litigation, Appellate Practice, First Amendment Law and Legal Malpractice Law, Mr. Marion has also been named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers magazine. His clients have included major regional, national and multinational corporations in a variety of industries including technology, financial services, media, retail and energy, as well as a number of major law firms. 
Mr. Marion has been elected to Fellowship in the American College of Trial Lawyers, the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, and the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers. He has served on the faculty and the Advisory Board of The Sedona Conference on Complex Litigation, an annual national conference of judges and lawyers, and as a lecturer-in-law at the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He also served as President of the Philadelphia Lawyers Club and the University of Pennsylvania Law Alumni Society. 
Mr. Marion serves as National Chancellor of the Tau Epsilon Rho Law Society, a professional society founded by Jewish law students in 1921, which emphasizes the pursuit of and adherence to Truth, Ethics, and Righteousness in the practice of law, administration of justice, and service to the public. 
Mr. Marion earned a B.S. degree in Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he was editor-in-chief of the Penn Law Review, class President, a member of the Order of the Coif, and a Harrison Cup Moot Court Award winner. He and his wife Roselyn reside in Meadowbrook, Pa.
