Baker & McKenzie announced today that it has acted as US, English and Ukrainian law counsel to the City of Kyiv on its offering of USD300 million loan participation notes.
The Baker & McKenzie team was led by Partner Chorny Serhiy with support from associates Andriy Nikiforov, Hanna Shtepa, Maksym Hlotov and junior attorney Ganna Smyrnova (Kyiv); and, Partner Chris Hogan with support from associate Iryna Nagayets (London).
Serhiy Chorny commented, “We are proud to have acted for the City of Kyiv on this transaction and its four prior international bond offerings which have together attracted over USD1 billion for the City of Kyiv on international capital markets. Thus far, the City of Kyiv is the only Ukrainian municipality to have successfully accessed the international capital markets. We hope that this will be followed by issuances by the other Ukrainian municipalities.”
Credit Suisse Securities (Europe) Limited, Deutsche Bank AG, London Branch, VTB Capital plc, and LLC VEB Capital were the Joint Lead Managers of the transaction.
