International law firm Eversheds has advised Private Equity house ECI Partners on its investment in Reed & Mackay, the leading provider of strategic travel management services.
Reed & Mackay was established in 1962 as a travel agent providing both business and leisure travel services. In 1988 it re-branded as a corporate travel management company specialising in providing high quality services.
Private equity firm ISIS invested in 2006 via its Baronsmead VCTs. ECI’s investment now enables the Baronsmead VCTs to exit in full and sees ISIS investing alongside ECI through the ISIS IV LP, thereby maintaining an investment and involvement in this high quality company.
The Eversheds team was led by partner and Head of Private Equity Richard Moulton, assisted by associates Mark Saunders and Joe Frew and solicitor Tom Cambidge.
Richard commented:
“We are extremely pleased to have advised ECI in relation to this transaction, which is in a sector in which they have considerable expertise. We look forward to advising them on future investments.”
Chris Watt of ECI Partners, commented:
“We were attracted to the business due to its niche positioning and exceptional service delivery to its clients. I am looking forward to helping Andy and all the team at Reed & Mackay continue to develop the business. As our legal advisers, Eversheds expertise in the private equity field was invaluable in ensuring a smooth transaction.”
