Taylor Wessing and Olswang have successfully completed the £215 million refinancing of the prime mid-town office building, Mid City Place, High Holborn. 

Taylor Wessing was instructed by DekaBank Deutsche Girozentrale as agent, who along with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company advanced a secured term loan facility to an affiliate of the Boston-based real estate investment firm Beacon Capital Partners LLC. Olswang acted for Beacon. 

The facility was used to assist Beacon with refinancing its existing Windermere (Lehmans) CMBS facility. The refinancing involved multiple jurisdictions including the BVI, Delaware and Jersey.
