The international legal practice DLA Piper has advised the business network XING on the acquisition of the Munich-based event platform Amiando AG.
The Hamburg-based company claims that, by acquiring the online service provider, it intends to expand its own portfolio to offer an integrated service for the organisation, promotion and implementation of business events.
XING is the social network for professional contacts. Millions of members use the internet platform worldwide for business, job and careers. Using XING, they establish and manage contacts with business partners, colleagues and fellow students. Xing is headquartered in Hamburg.
Amiando is a pioneer in online event registration and ticketing. Having started up in 2006, Amiando is currently the leading online tool throughout Europe for facilitating the professional organisation of events. It has received numerous honours for its innovative products, among them the title of ‘Technology Pioneer 2010’ from the World Economic Forum in Davos and the ‘eco Internet Award’ for best business portal.
