Eversheds advises Apple on Bringing the Beatles On-line

The deal, announced on the 16th November 2010, will see The Beatles’ recordings released as digital downloads for the very first time. This is the latest in a long line of major transactions upon which the Eversheds media team has advised Apple Corps Limited.

The Eversheds team was led by Partner Nick Valner who was assisted by Senior Associate Neil Mohring. Nick comments:

“The deal had to be completed in a very short space of time during which we were involved in intense negotiations with EMI and Apple Inc. Our experience of advising on complex media transactions for Apple Corps and our other media clients was invaluable. We are delighted to have played a small part in a historic day.”

Jeff Jones, CEO of Apple corps comments:

“This is an extremely exciting deal which brings the Beatles’ music to iTunes for the very first time. Eversheds are a trusted partner who provided a seamless service in enabling us to achieve this significant milestone.”
