Greenberg Traurig Maher LLP announced that an international team of its attorneys assisted EasyDate plc, the UK’s leading online dating service, in recently completing the acquisition of US-based Cupid.com. The transaction was reportedly valued at £4.4 million (USD$6.9 million) and positioned as part of EasyDate’s ongoing expansion in 2010.
The team was led by Shareholder Ewan Robertson of Greenberg Traurig Maher’s London office and Shareholder Stephen Dietrich of the Denver, Colorado, office of Greenberg Traurig, LLP in the U.S. Associates Sarah Seedig in Denver and James Sealey in London were also key members of the legal team.

Edinburgh-based EasyDate operates a portfolio of sites in three consumer markets: mainstream online dating and matchmaking, niche dating services, and social and mobile services. EasyDate began its international expansion in 2009 and continues to grow in other English speaking territories, the UK and India, and will launch in mainland Europe and Brazil in 2010. EasyDate’s dating sites collectively have more than 13 million profiles throughout the world, are available in five languages, have six million visits monthly and have 140 employees in London, Edinburgh and Ukraine.
