Berrymans Lace Mawer and HBM Sayers complete combination to form BLM

Today [1 May 2014] Berrymans Lace Mawer and HBM Sayers formally have combined as BLM, a £100m business  that will be  the UK and Ireland’s leading risk and insurance law firm with 170 partners, 630 lawyers and technical experts, and 1,550 employees spread across 12 offices across England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

BLM has launched its rebrand today, complete with a new corporate identity, visual palette, mission and values.

Client reviews revealed a significant market opportunity for legal suppliers with the physical presence and expertise to support clients across the UK and Ireland. BLM has an established and deep-rooted presence amongst the general insurance sector, the London Market, brokers, corporate insureds and the public and healthcare sectors.

BLM will:

  • Boast more than 100 Leading Lawyer entries in the legal directories
  • Serve nine out of the 10 largest insurers in the UK
  • Offer complementary legal services in the arenas of healthcare, social housing and commercial litigation
  • Be organised via a new management and governance structure, with separate operational and executive boards combining the senior experience of expertise of both legacy firms
