Squire Sanders Advises Ashland on US$1.8 Billion Sale of Water Technologies Business

Squire Sanders has represented chemicals manufacturer Ashland Inc. on a US$1.8 billion agreement to sell its Water Technologies business to private investment firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice. Water Technologies is a leading supplier of specialty chemicals and services to the pulp and paper and industrial water markets.

The Squire Sanders deal team was led by Carolyn Buller with support from Jonathon Whittlesey, and included Carl Draucker, Mitch Thompson, and Tim Jarvis who advised on tax and benefits matters; Janette Lucas and Natalie Bellwood who advised on labor and employment matters; and Oliver Geiss and Mark Botti who advised on antitrust matters.
