Baker Donelson Expands Real Estate Group with Addition of Three Attorneys

Baker Donelson’s Nashville office continues to grow with the addition of Matthew T. Harris, Richard L. Pensinger and Anne Marie Kempf. Previously with the Waller law firm, the three attorneys have joined as members of Baker Donelson’s Real Estate Group.

Scott D. Carey, managing shareholder of the Firm’s Nashville office, said, “We’re pleased to have such highly qualified attorneys as Matt, Rick and Anne Marie join us. Their solid experience and outstanding reputations bring even further depth to our already well-regarded real estate practice. Their arrival, coupled with recent additions in our tax group, further bolsters our growing business department.”

Mr. Harris added, “We’re excited to be joining a firm with such an extensive support structure and client-focused approach. We believe our clients will greatly benefit from Baker Donelson’s significant resources and wide-ranging capabilities.”

Mr. Harris, who joins as shareholder, handles acquisitions, dispositions, development, financing and complex leasing of industrial and distribution center projects, health care, multi-family, office and wireless communications properties.  Also well versed in land use and zoning law, he has decades of experience in representing clients before planning commissions and zoning boards.  Mr. Harris is widely regarded as having one of the most diversified commercial real estate practices in the state. He is recognized as a leading real estate attorney by Best Lawyers in America and Chambers USA. Mr. Harris previously served as a member of Waller’s management committee and real estate practice group chair.

Also joining as shareholder, Mr. Pensinger represents clients in the wireless telecommunications, health care and restaurant industries in the acquisition, sale and lease of commercial real estate. For more than a decade, he has represented a leading wireless telecommunications provider in the development, leasing, acquisition and disposition of network real estate assets throughout the country. This representation has included numerous complex, large-scale wireless market acquisitions as well as the negotiation of distributed antenna system (DAS) agreements involving significant public venues.

Ms. Kempf, who joins as shareholder, handles voluminous site-selection matters for a major telecommunications provider. She supervises the transactions required for development, leasing, acquisition, and upgrade of thousands of communications facilities throughout the Southeast and Midwest. Her experience includes comprehensive mediation training, handling multi-state land acquisitions and financings, public-private partnership transactions, including tax incentive financings, and real estate development initiatives.
