DLA Piper has appointed energy lawyer Andreas Gunst, LL.M. as a partner in the Finance & Projects Group and Energy sector team. For the past four years, Andreas has worked as chief legal counsel and compliance officer at Nabucco Gas Pipeline International GmbH.
Andreas has long-standing energy industry expertise with a particular focus on international energy infrastructure projects, notably in Central and South East Europe. He will work from the firm’s Vienna and London offices.
Before managing the legal matters of what was once Europe’s largest gas pipeline project, Andreas was an associate at DLA Piper, working from the London and Edinburgh offices. He has also previously been Chairman of a number of industry working groups including the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN), the Carbon Markets and Investors Association (CMIA) and Renewable Energy Certificate Systems (RECS) International.
Andreas’ expertise covers a wide spectrum of project, finance and energy law matters including regulatory framework conditions of the oil, gas and electricity markets, energy contract and commercial law, contractual structuring and financing of oil and gas projects and energy infrastructure projects (including LNG terminal, gas and electricity pipeline construction), the implementation of conventional power generation projects, as well as renewable energy and climate change projects.
