Greenberg Traurig Expands its Energy Practice, Adds Shareholder Edwin J. Nazario in Washington D.C.

Edwin J. Nazario has joined the international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP as a shareholder. He will be based out of the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig, Mr. Nazario was of counsel at Blank Rome LLP.

Mr. Nazario’s practice will focus in the areas of physical energy trading, derivatives transactions Dodd Frank Act compliance and distressed debt trading. . His clients include independent exploration and production companies, multinational investment banks, and hedge funds. Mr. Nazario also represents various broker-dealers, investment banks, hedge funds and other entities in capital markets in the United States, Europe, Latin America and Asia.

Mr. Nazario is experienced with negotiating, drafting and assisting energy traders and operations personnel with ISDA Master Agreements, trade confirmations, marine provisions, general terms and conditions, collateral agreements, master purchase and sale agreements, netting agreements, and guarantees.  In addition, Mr. Nazario regularly assists clients with the purchase and sale of domestic and international trade claims, syndicated and bilateral loans, bonds, foreign-sovereign debt, notes, restricted securities, warrants, swap claims, stock, and conversion rights in the primary and secondary loan markets.

Mr. Nazario holds a J.D. from Columbia Law School and a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a member of the Loan Market Association, Loan Syndications and Trading Association, American Bar Association and the Hispanic Bar Association of the District of Columbia.
