K&L Gates Continues Seattle Office Growth with Health Care Partner Hire

The Seattle office of global law firm K&L Gates LLP welcomes Carla M. DewBerry as a partner in the health care practice. DewBerry joins the firm from Garvey Schubert Barer.

With a primary focus in health care law, DewBerry represents clients on Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, as well as on related audits and litigation. She also counsels on general corporate and transactional matters such as mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, joint venture operations, licensings, and federal, state, and local taxation.

“Carla’s qualifications and experience, both as a health care lawyer and CPA, provide a significant boost to the firm’s health care practice as well as the Seattle office,” said Phil Guess, Administrative Partner of K&L Gates’ Seattle office. “With new legislation being enacted, combined with the rising costs and added regulatory involvement, health care is an area in which clients increasingly need effective counsel.”

DewBerry is the sixth partner to join K&L Gates’ Seattle office since spring, following the arrival of labor and employment partner Dan Hurley in April, technology transactions partner Kate Spelman in May, and energy partners David Benson and David Hattery and tax partner Michael Kelley in July.
