Eckert Seamans Cherin and Mellott, LLC, a full-service national law firm, today announced that Michael A. Montgomery, a trial attorney with more than 15 years of experience handling a wide array of commercial litigation matters, has joined the firm in Richmond as a Member (partner).
Montgomery is a seasoned litigator with experience defending business and commercial interests in state and federal courts. He routinely defends clients in high exposure litigation across a broad spectrum of industries, typically in the areas of product liability, construction, transportation and general commercial litigation.

Montgomery recently handled the defense of a national accreditation organization against claims brought by universities and students, the defense of various manufacturers and general contractors in cases involving claims of catastrophic personal injury and property damage, and the representation of clients in proceedings before the Virginia State Corporation Commission. In addition, he has many years of experience representing Class 1 and short line railroads in personal injury and property damage claims arising out of collisions and derailments.
Montgomery was previously a partner with Sinnott Nuckols & Logan, PC in Midlothian, Virginia.
Montgomery earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Richmond T.C. Williams School of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia.
