Duane Morris LLP is pleased to announce that Steven M. Cowley has joined the firm’s Trial Practice Group as a partner in the firm’s Boston office. Cowley’s arrival further strengthens Duane Morris’ trial capabilities, particularly in the area of complex business litigation, including antitrust litigation, trademark and copyright disputes. Cowley joins the firm from Edwards Wildman. He is the fourth lawyer to join the Boston office in the past two months.
Cowley focuses his practice on business litigation, specifically disputes arising out of mergers and acquisitions and other investment transactions, including shareholder disputes, post-closing disputes, indemnification disputes, corporate governance, breach of fiduciary duty and D&O claims. Cowley also has substantial experience in intellectual property litigation, including trademark, copyright, patent and trade secret litigation. Cowley also represents clients in antitrust litigation, unfair trade practices claims and related business disputes. He has handled litigation and arbitration proceedings in both state and federal courts and before arbitration panels throughout the United States. Cowley’s clients include technology, manufacturing and financial services companies, private equity and venture capital firms, and large public companies.
Cowley earned his J.D. in 1989 from Harvard Law School, magna cum laude. He graduated in 1986 with a B.A. from the University of Connecticut, magna cum laude.
