David Lavan Joins Dinsmore & Shohl’s Washington DC Office

Dinsmore & Shohl is pleased to announce David Lavan has joined the firm as a Partner in the Washington, D.C. office. Lavan will practice in the Corporate Department.

Lavan focuses on capital market matters and advises clients on issues involving the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC), including registration and reporting requirements, as well as capital formation and corporate governance. He uses his previous experience as a government bond broker to counsel clients on transactional, regulatory and litigation matters. Lavan also served as Special Counsel in the Division of Corporation Finance in the SEC.

“David is a great addition because of his unique perspective as a former government bond broker and his extensive SEC experience. He was an easy choice to help grow the Washington office,” said Ben Wells, managing partner of the firm’s D.C. office

Lavan represents both public and private companies, as well as independent board and committee members, investment banks, private equity funds and other financial institutions. He earned his J.D. from California Western School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Virginia.
