Addleshaw Goddard has accelerated its investment in its London energy offering with two new partner appointments.
Energy experts Angus Rollo and Guy Winter, both from Shepherd and Wedderburn, will join the firm’s London corporate team to strengthen its capability in the energy sector – one of the firm’s key sectors along with financial services, property, health and retail & consumer. The appointments come at an exciting time for the firm’s London corporate practice which has added six new partners to its cohort over the last year bringing the number of London corporate partners up to 26.
Both partners are recognised corporate practitioners in the energy sector and have particular expertise in advising on oil & gas, renewable energy and water & wastewater matters. Their clients include corporates, investment banks, private equity houses and other funders who are active in the energy market on a range of corporate matters including: domestic and cross border M&A, private equity, capital markets, joint ventures and reorganisations.
Angus and Guy also have extensive experience of acting for energy sector clients in Africa having acted on a number of high profile matters in the region including acting for Seven Energy, an independent Nigerian oil and gas development and production company, on various equity,equity-linked and debt fundraisings.
Commenting on the appointments, corporate divisional managing partner Philip Goodstone said:
“Angus and Guy are two highly skilled individuals who have considerable experience and insight into the energy sector where there are exciting growth opportunities for us to tap into.
“Growing our understanding and capability in this area is a priority for us so we are better able to support the firm’s existing energy practice and our clients who are active in this sector.”
Addleshaw Goddard’s head of energy Richard Goodfellow said:
“As our energy practice continues to win market share, the need for a focused corporate offering in energy has become clear. Angus and Guy will not only ensure our clients have access to first rate corporate advice but they will also help us grow our oil and gas offering and boost our energy credentials in Africa.
“Africa is a very important market for us and the additional experience Angus and Guy will bring is a great complement to our existing sector strengths in the region. I am looking forward to working with them and combining our market expertise going forward.”
