Dinsmore & Shohl is pleased to announce Penina Lieber has joined the firm’s Pittsburgh office as a Partner in the Corporate Department and member of the Taxation Group.

Lieber represents nonprofit organizations in a wide variety of matters, including state and federal tax exemptions, charitable trust litigation, corporate restructuring and governance, employment, financing and public-private partnerships. She is an approved Mediator and Early Neutral Evaluator in the Alternative Dispute Resolution Program of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Lieber has published three books on legal issues facing nonprofits and has been a featured speaker at many conferences.
Lieber has been appointed by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania to the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Interest of Lawyers Trust Account Board which she chaired. She is President of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, Chair of the ABA Commission on Interest of Lawyers Trust Account and a member of the American Law Institute (ALI). Lieber is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law teaching courses in nonprofit and tax-exempt law. She was a Woodrow Wilson Fellow at Harvard University and has her J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
