Health Care Attorney Todd C. Brower Joins McCarter & English in Newark

McCarter & English, LLP is pleased to announce that Todd C. Brower has joined as partner with the firm’s health care practice in Newark.

Brower has more than 25 years of experience counseling health care industry clients on a broad range of regulatory and transactional matters. He advises hospitals, physicians and physician groups, home health agencies and other health care institutions on corporate compliance and Hippa issues, as well as, acquisitions, affiliations, joint venturing, licensing and reimbursement. He has also represented medical staffs, IPAs and individual physicians and practitioners in contractual and disciplinary matters, as well as group practice formations. Additionally, he works extensively with trustees of hospitals and other nonprofits on board restructuring, improvement, and education.

Brower, who is cited in Chambers USA as the “‘out and out’ dean of the Bar in healthcare,” speaks frequently and writes extensively on health care issues. He has authored numerous publications, including the Hospital Association’s Hospital Biomedical Ethics Legal Resource Manual and the Legal Reference Manual for the Release of Health Record Information in New Jersey, published by the New Jersey Hospital Association. He is also a past member of the Health Information Compliance Insider’s Board of Advisors.

Professional industry activities for Brower include serving as an adjunct professor at Seton Hall Law School and chairman of The Foundation for East Orange General Hospital. He was appointed to the New Jersey Hospital Association’s Council on Hospital Governance, and served as its Region Five chairman. He is also a former chairman of Essex Valley Healthcare, East Orange General Hospital, and member of the Board of Trustees of Essex Valley Visiting Nurse Association. Brower earned his J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law and his B.A. from Emory University.
