Duane Morris Boston Office Adds Corporate Partner Jonathan Lourie

Duane Morris is pleased to announce that Jonathan Lourie has joined the firm’s Corporate Practice Group as a partner in the firm’s growing Boston office. Lourie’s arrival further strengthens Duane Morris’ corporate capabilities, particularly in the areas of life sciencesnew media and technology transactions. Lourie joins the firm from Edwards Wildman. Lourie is the third lawyer to join the Boston office in the past two months, including Daniel B. Winslow, a Massachusetts state representative who rejoined the firm in June.

Lourie focuses his practice on representing technology-based companies in commercializing their technologies and bringing products and services to market. He has substantial experience in licensing, joint ventures and collaborations, especially in the field of life sciences. Lourie also advises companies and individuals in the United States and abroad in technology transfers, venture capital transactions, mergers and acquisitions, bankruptcy acquisitions, specialized lending, international law and securities law. He writes and speaks on such topics as technology licensing, biotechnology transfer and entrepreneurship, among others.

Lourie earned his J.D. in 1986 from Syracuse University College of Law, magna cum laude, and was the senior lead articles editor of the Mu. He graduated in 1982 with a B.Sc. in Psychobiology from McGill University. Lourie has been frequently named as a Massachusetts Super Lawyer and was named by Euromoney/LMG as a Life Science Star in 2012.
