Law firm McCarter & English, LLP is pleased to announce that Simone Wilson-Brito has rejoined the firm as a partner in the Real Estate practice in Newark. Since 2008, Wilson-Brito was real estate counsel with Rockefeller Group Development Corporation (RGDC), a national owner, developer, and manager of prestigious commercial real estate properties in New York City and throughout the United States. Her practice will focus primarily on complex commercial real estate transactions with a concentration in the financing, leasing and acquisition of real property.
“Simone was a rising star as a real estate associate at the firm before she went in-house at RGDC,” said Michael A. Guariglia, McCarter’s Newark office managing partner. “Her prior experience in this practice area coupled with her time at one of the leading real estate companies in the country will strengthen and add further depth to the level of service we will be able to provide to our clients. We are very pleased to welcome Simone back to the firm.”
“Simone’s leasing and finance expertise will be extremely valuable,” continued Jeffrey A. Petit, practice group leader for the firm’s Real Estate group. “She has insight and expertise for handling a wide array of complex real estate transactions from commercial and multi-use complexes to landmark properties within our target markets of New Jersey and New York. Simone will be a great addition to our team.”
Wilson-Brito’s leasing practice includes the representation of both landlords and tenants in the preparation and negotiation of office and retail leases. In her finance practice, she represents both lenders and borrowers in connection with commercial and construction loans. She also represents purchasers and sellers in all aspects of the acquisition and disposition of real estate.
While at the RGDC, Wilson-Brito handled financing and real estate transactions for the company and its affiliates. Her responsibilities included negotiating leases, building contracts, licenses and other transaction documents relative to the company’s development, management and ownership operations in New York, Florida, South Carolina, Utah and New Jersey.
Admitted to the New Jersey and New York bars, Wilson-Brito earned her J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School and her B.S. from Vanderbilt University.
