Specialist litigation firm Stewarts Law today announces the appointment of Mo Bhaskaran as a Partner and Head of the Commercial Litigation Department at its Leeds office.
Mo has a hugely impressive track record as he joins Stewarts Law from Pinsent Masons where he was a Partner dealing with a broad range of commercial disputes. He will take charge of the expanding Commercial Litigation team at the firm’s Leeds office and will work alongside Jonathan Sinclair who will continue to head the Competition Litigation Department (firmwide).
The rapid rise of the Leeds’ Commercial Litigation Department under the leadership of Jonathan Sinclair was recognised by both the Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners. Mo’s experience in acting on high value disputes will complement Stewarts Law’s existing capabilities and enable Jonathan to focus on the substantial opportunities that are opening up in the competition litigation field. Stewarts Law is one of the few leading law firms willing and able to take action against banks, having recently won a four-year legal dispute against Commerzbank representing London investment bankers in their fight for £43.9 million in unpaid bonuses.
Mo has built his reputation focusing on commercial disputes for over 14 years. He is described by the Legal 500 as “first rate” and is an established and highly regarded litigator acting for large public and private sector organisations handling complex commercial litigation and investigations. He has particular experience handling fraud and corruption investigations as well complex commercial disputes involving major IT implementation projects, PFI disputes and product recall matters.
Mo Bhaskaran said of his appointment: “I’m delighted to be joining the team at Stewarts Law, a leading law firm which is well known for its conflict-free positioning and excellent reputation for domestic and international high-value and complex litigation.”
Clive Zietman, Head of Commercial Litigation (firmwide) at Stewarts Law commented: “Mo’s appointment strengthens our current market position as one of the leading commercial litigation departments. Our strategy continues to create a team comprising the very best lawyers to meet the complex needs of our clients and Mo will be a great asset heading the team in Leeds.”
