McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP (MLA) announces the addition of Nancy Grunberg, Treazure Johnson and George Kostolampros, who will all join as partners in MLA’s White Collar and Criminal Defense practice. They will operate out of the firm’s Washington, DC office, focusing on civil and criminal securities law enforcement and financial disclosure matters.
The three partners join MLA from another AmLaw 100 firm where Grunberg served as co-head of the SEC and White Collar Defense practice group. Grunberg previously spent nine years with the SEC during two separate tenures, the second as Assistant Director in the Division of Enforcement. Johnson and Kostolampros also worked at the SEC, as Senior Assistant Chief Litigation Counsel and Senior Counsel in the Division of Enforcement respectively.
“As MLA continues to focus on strategic growth, we are thrilled to bring this talented team of securities litigators on board,” said Jeff Haidet, Chairman of MLA. “The exceptional SEC experience that Nancy, Treazure, and George each bring to the firm will further support and expand the services we provide to our clients.”
The group enhances MLA’s litigation practice, strengthening the areas of white collar and criminal defense, compliance and investigations, and fraud investigations and litigation. Prior to joining the firm, the attorneys have successfully represented clients in SEC and criminal securities investigations, as well as represented individuals and businesses in criminal and regulatory investigations and prosecutions in the areas of securities fraud, bank fraud, health care fraud and public corruption.
According to Nancy Grunberg, the group chose to join MLA for a number of reasons.
“MLA has all of the components that we were looking for, including a growing securities litigation practice and client-focused approach,” said Grunberg. “Joining MLA will supplement our experience and add to our ability to serve clients in our core practice area.”
“These additions bring added depth to our Litigation practice as well as significantly enrich our regulatory litigation capabilities,” continued Tami Lyn Azorsky, chair of MLA’s Litigation Practice. “Their practice will complement our existing white collar defense team which will be a tremendous asset to the firm.”
