Michael Duffy has rejoined Baker & McKenzie’s renowned Dispute Resolution Practice as a partner, adding 12 years of experience in a range of dispute resolution matters.
Based in Chicago, Mr. Duffy has significant in-court experience and has represented a broad selection of clients, in various fields, ranging from manufacturers, private equity firms, auditors, and oil and gas companies. He has tried jury trials and various arbitration proceedings through to final resolution. Mr. Duffy, a fluent Spanish speaker, has represented Latin American and Spanish clients in various disputes in U.S. courts and arbitral proceedings.
“Michael’s fluency in Spanish and deep experience advising Latin American and Spanish clients in litigation matters are great additions to our growing practice,” said Richard Franklin, Chair of Baker & McKenzie’s North American Litigation Practice.
Mr. Duffy has been involved in numerous international arbitrations. He has also represented top-tier auditing firms on large malpractice claims and securities class actions, manufacturers against claims brought by their dealers and franchisees in courts throughout the U.S., as well as in numerous administrative tribunals. Mr. Duffy has worked with directors, officers, and boards of directors of public companies in connection with litigation and governmental investigations filed against them.
