Claire Bushen joins our Manchester office from DAC Beachcroft, where she was a partner.
Claire is a professional indemnity expert and brings a wide range of experience in defending claims against accountants and auditors, insurance brokers, estate agents and solicitors. She also deals with a significant number of D&O claims and claims against “new professions”, particularly in IT. Claire trained at DAC’s Leeds office from 1999 to 2001. She rejoined the firm in Manchester in 2006.
Claire comments:
“Kennedys has an unrivalled reputation for professional negligence. I have been particularly impressed with the way in which the firm has expanded its Manchester office in response to the growing number of insurers that have opened up in the city during the last three years.”
Nick Thomas, Senior Partner, comments:
“We now have one of the largest professional indemnity teams in the UK and act for more than 50 insurers. To facilitate this growth it is crucial that we continue to grow our own people and make strong lateral hires so as to provide our clients with the highest quality support in all of our offices.”
Our professional indemnity team in Manchester is developing under Jeremy Riley, who joined the firm from Eversheds in November 2009. Claire’s appointment follows the recent arrival of partner Simon Taylor from Freeth Cartwright and takes the office’s headcount up to 48.
