AmLaw 100 Surveys Illustrate a Profitable 2007

According to AmLaws 100 survey, most New York big law firms made history in 2007 in terms of profit. For instance, Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz made an outstanding $4.9 million, as compared to its $3.98 million in 2006. From the 100 law firms surveyed, 64 of them had over $1 million. After Wachtell, second and third place slots were filled by Cravath, Swaine & Moore and Sullivan & Cromwell respectively. The following firms also made the top ten: Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett; Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft; Cahill Gordon & Reindel: Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison; and Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy.
