Wragge & Co Boosts Munich Office with New Director Hire

Wragge & Co has strengthened its international credentials with the appointment of Munich-based director Ina Gerstberger from Gerstenberg Rechtsanwälte. An expert in the life sciences and food & drink sectors, Ina specialises in delivering IP, regulatory and contractual advice to a global client base.

Head of IP Gordon Harris said: “Commercially-astute, sector-focused and with an impressive track record of delivering results for her clients, Ina is an outstanding lawyer and an exciting addition to our growing IP practice. Ina has joined our Munich-based team, which works with IP colleagues in the UK and China to provide a seamless service to international businesses looking for domestic or cross-border IP advice. Her appointment demonstrates our continuing commitment to invest in and develop our presence in Munich.”

Starting her career as a qualified German lawyer at Taylor Wessing, Ina then joined Ashurst in 2004. There she broadened her expertise from trademark and patent litigation to regulatory, contractual and unfair competition matters relevant to the pharmaceutical and food industry. She joined German IP and health products boutique law firm Gerstenberg Rechtsanwälte as partner in 2010.

Ina’s national and international client base includes companies marketing foodstuffs, feedstuffs, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and cosmetics. With a degree in biochemistry, she has vast experience in the life sciences and food & drink sector, guiding clients through the complete lifecycle of product development – from the initial assessment of a new product idea to licensing and distribution agreements. Ina is consistently recommended in independent legal directory JUVE handbook of German commercial law firms for her food law expertise.

Her highlights include advising a global pharmaceutical company on the regulatory issues relating to the multi-million pound acquisition of a product portfolio. Ina has also successfully litigated for food and pharmaceutical companies on unfair competition law disputes in the German civil courts.

Ina Gerstberger added: “Wragge & Co is among the top names for IP work. I look forward to expanding the team’s expertise in food, feed, cosmetic, medical devices and pharmaceutical law, while growing my IP patent law and litigation practice.”
