Hogan Lovells Continues to Strengthen its Global PE Capabilities With Frankfurt Hire

Hogan Lovells is pleased to announce that Nikolai Sokolov will be joining as a partner in the firm’s Private Equity practice, based in the Frankfurt office.  He joins from Allen & Overy on November 1st.

Nikolai advises on a wide range of mid-cap and large investors on cross-border and domestic private equity transactions as well as for corporate clients from a variety of industries on M&A deals.

Commenting on the recent appointment, David Gibbons, global head of the Corporate & Finance practice at Hogan Lovells, said: “The addition of Nikolai is yet another step in our focused effort to enhance our private equity practice in key markets. Following the recent additions of London corporate partners Ed Harris and Leanne Moezi, and hires in the US and Shanghai, Nikolai’s’ appointment demonstrates our ongoing commitment and desire to continue to grow the practice in Europe and beyond. We already have an existing group of energetic and ambitious partners who are executing a broad range of transactions for private equity and private capital clients, and Nikolai’s appointment further enhances that capacity.”

Stefan Schuppert, Managing Partner for Germany at Hogan Lovells, commented: “We are confident that after a brief pause of transactional activity as a result of the current crisis, we will begin to see some growth in PE activity within the market. Nikolai is an ambitious lawyer, and will be a great addition to our Frankfurt Private equity team. “
