Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner Strengthens European Network with Hire of Experienced Employment Lawyers for Frankfurt Office

The global law firm Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (BCLP) is strengthening its European network with the hire two employment specialists in its Frankfurt office. Dr. Julia Schweitzer joins as a partner and will lead BCLP’s Employment Law Practice in Germany. She joins the firm from JUSTEM Rechtsanwälte. Schweitzer will be followed as of Aug. 1 by Janine Weber, who will work as an associate in the same team.

Schweitzer has many years of experience in advising German and international companies as well as public employers on all questions of collective and individual labor law. She also regularly advises on employment law issues in M&A transactions. Schweitzer has a strong reputation as a business mediator for internal company conflicts.

Schweitzer has been a practicing lawyer since 2006. After 11 years with Taylor Wessing, she joined the Frankfurt office of JUSTEM, a spinoff of Freshfields, in January 2018 as partner. Schweitzer’s practice combines many years of experience in employment law with the use of alternative models of conflict resolution. Her focus is on 4.0 working environments and digitalization, as well as the development of internal conflict management systems. She is the recipient of the Mediation Award 2016 of the German Federal Association of Mediation and co-founder of the network Frankfurter Mediationszentrale.

Weber has been a member of Schweitzer’s team at JUSTEM since 2019. Her practice focuses on advising employers on individual and collective employment law issues as well as representing employers in court in employment law disputes. In addition, she advises on the drafting of employment and service contracts and collective company agreements.
