BLP Germany Strengthens Finance Practice With Partner Hire

International law firm Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) today (28 March, 2018) announced the appointment of new Partner Dr Bernd Geier to further enhance its financial regulation practice in Germany. Bernd will join BLP’s Frankfurt office on 1 April 2018.

Bernd’s arrival increases BLP’s global expertise in capital markets, structured financing and securitization.. He joins BLP from Denton’s where he led the German financial regulation and funds practice. In addition, he was co-head of Dentons’ European Financial Institutions Sector Group and its European financial institutions regulatory practice. Bernd will be taking on a similar role at Berwin Leighton Paisner.

A market leading finance lawyer, Bernd advises banks, financial service providers, payment processors and funds in the area of financial market regulation with a special focus on regulatory change projects, fund and transaction structuring, outsourcing and restructuring and settlement handling. He is a member of the Bundesverband Alternative Investments (BAI) and a lecturer at the University of Speyer in Rhineland-Palatinate.

Bernd began his career as an associate at Linklaters in 2007 before switching to Allen & Overy in 2012 where he worked as a counsel. In 2015, he moved to Dentons where he joined as partner.
