Baker & McKenzie Grows German Corporate/M&A Practice with Further Lateral

Baker & McKenzie further expands its M&A and Private Equity Practice in Frankfurt with lateral Dr. Peter Wand. Wand joins Baker & McKenzie as partner on March 1st 2016 from Debevoise & Plimpton where he was International Counsel.

Between 2000 and 2007 Peter worked for Cleary Gottlieb and joined Debevoise & Plimpton in 2007. His practice covers the advice on Private Equity-transactions, acquisitions and public takeovers. In addition he advises on corporate governance issues and compliance. Peter Wand has longstanding experience in advising banks an insurances. In recent years he acted on numerous large transactions such as for example AIG in its public takeover offer for AIRE, a real estate investment company, and Dover on German corporate law aspects in its agreement with Tokheim Group to acquire Tokheim’s dispensers and systems businesses.

Most recently Dr. Ingo Strauss and Dr. Heiko Gotsche joined Baker & McKenzie in Düsseldorf as corporate/M&A partners from Hengeler Müller. In addition Dr. Christian Vocke was elected to partner in the Frankfurt-team, having joined the firm from Gleiss Lutz on 1. July 2015.
