Murad Daghles Joins White & Case as a Partner in Düsseldorf

Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice with the addition of Murad Daghles as a partner in Düsseldorf. Daghles has more than ten years of experience and joins White & Case from Allen & Overy, where he was a partner.

“The addition of Murad is another example of our strategic commitment to growing our M&A capabilities globally,” said White & Case partner John Reiss, Head of the Firm’s Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice. “During 2018 we opened a new office in Chicago with a focus on M&A, announced the internal promotion of a number of M&A lawyers to partner, and added M&A partners laterally in the US, the UK, continental Europe, the Nordics and in Africa.”

Daghles is an experienced mergers and acquisitions lawyer who advises on complex multinational transactions, including real estate deals and cross-border joint ventures, with a particular focus on cross-border work related to the Middle East. He supports large German corporates on their investments in the region, and Middle Eastern organizations on their investments in Germany. Daghles is a fluent Arabic speaker whose detailed understanding of the legal environment in the Middle East has been strengthened through a secondment to the headquarters of an Abu Dhabi-based sovereign wealth fund. He also advises on complex German corporate, takeover and related capital markets and corporate governance matters, and on corporate disputes including post-M&A disputes and disputes between shareholders. Daghles has more than ten years of experience and joins White & Case from Allen & Overy, where he was a partner.

“Murad is a dynamic, client-focused partner with excellent technical skills and the leadership qualities and business acumen to create value for the organizations he advises,” said White & Case partner Jörg Kraffel, Regional Section Head, EMEA M&A/Corporate. “He has strong relationships with German and Middle Eastern corporates and adds further strength and depth to the service we provide to our clients on cross-border transactions.”

Partner Oliver Brettle, a member of White & Case’s global Executive Committee, said: “Murad’s focus on transactions involving German and Middle Eastern organizations, and his Arabic background, knowledge and experience, position him as a unique talent in the German legal market. His skill set, combined with our strong presence in both Germany and the Middle East, will enable us to achieve market leadership status as advisers on outbound and inbound deals between the two jurisdictions.”
