Latham & Watkins Adds Experienced Finance Practitioner in Dubai

Latham & Watkins is pleased to announce that Christian Adams has rejoined the firm as a partner in the Banking and Restructuring & Special Situations Practices, based in Dubai. Adams rejoins Latham from global investment company Dubai Holding, where he served as Vice President, responsible for financing, restructuring, and strategic transactional matters involving members of the Dubai Holding group and Dubai Holding affiliates.

His practice focuses on representing corporates, sponsors, and lenders across the financing spectrum, including in relation to leveraged and acquisition financings, real estate financings, general conventional and Islamic lending, distressed debt matters, and complex restructurings.

“We are delighted to welcome Christian back to the firm”, said Nomaan Raja, Office Managing Partner of Latham & Watkins’ Dubai office. “He brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the region and he will be a tremendous addition to our market-leading finance practice in the Middle East. Over the years, he has established an impressive reputation advising multinational companies and leading financial institutions on a wide range of mandates.”

“Christian’s breadth of experience enhances our capability in the Middle East and he will support the growth of our practice in Dubai and across the region”, added Villiers Terblanche, Local Department Chair of Latham’s Finance Department in Dubai. “His skills and track record advising on large, complex deals across the region, in particular in the investment, hospitality, leisure and entertainment, infrastructure, communications, and real estate sectors, adds further depth to our strong and growing finance practice.”

“We are focused on establishing the top-tier global restructuring practice with unrivalled strength across key markets in the US, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East”, said London-based partner Simon Baskerville, Global Vice Chair of Latham & Watkins’ Restructuring & Special Situations Practice. “Christian is highly regarded in the market and is an exciting addition to our team. His arrival adds critical experience to our practice in the Middle East and aligns with our strategic focus on the long-term growth opportunities in the region.”

Adams graduated from the University of Leeds before completing his LPC at the College of Law. Prior to joining Dubai Holding in 2017, he spent nearly a decade at Latham & Watkins.
