Linklaters Boosts Islamic Finance Practice with Hire of New Global Head of Islamic Finance

Linklaters today announces that leading Islamic Finance lawyer Neil Miller has been appointed as Global Head of Islamic Finance, based in Dubai. Neil joins from KPMG, where he was a partner and Global Head of Islamic Finance.

Neil is widely recognised as an industry leader in the Islamic Finance field with extensive experience gained over a career spanning 20 years at the forefront of the Islamic Finance market.

Neil Miller, new global head of Linklaters’ Islamic Finance practice, said:

“The Islamic financial services industry has been developing rapidly in recent years. Having survived the global financial crisis in reasonable shape, it offers a value proposition that fits with a growing desire to embed ethics in the global financial system. It is the first finance choice for a growing number of customers, particularly in the OIC group of countries and I believe the most exciting chapter of Islamic financial sector growth is about to be written. The interplay between law and Sharia’a continues to be the main driver of growth, innovation and cross border activity in the industry and I look forward to helping a strong Linklaters team play a leading role in the future.”

Jim Rice, head of Linklaters’ global finance and project practice, said:

“Neil is a leading practitioner and we are delighted to welcome him to our team. We look forward to working with him, to further strengthen our Islamic finance practice.”
